Bob Searles
Bob Searles has developed office and industrial property in Southern California for more than four decades. He leads Searles Property Group in Newport Beach, which acquires, entitles, builds and holds well-designed commercial real estate in established communities.
Bob was an early proponent of the low-rise, campus-style office building in an Orange County market then dominated by high-rises. In 1984 he developed the 160,000-square-foot Daimler Office Center in Santa Ana. He followed it in 1989-90 with the six-building Alton Deere Plaza, also in Santa Ana. Both projects held strong occupancy through the early-1990s downturn.
He has since led development across Santa Ana, Lake Forest and the Conejo Valley. Projects include Alton Corporate Center, two 66,800-square-foot headquarters buildings developed with ORIX Real Estate Equities, and Foothill Plaza and Towne Center Plaza in Foothill Ranch. He also developed Westlake Park Place, a 465,000-square-foot, eight-building Class A campus on 26 acres in Westlake Village. More recently, SPG repositioned a 205,000-square-foot facility in Foothill Ranch as the North American headquarters of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A.
Under Bob's leadership, SPG has sponsored, developed and managed more than 7 million square feet of real estate for institutional and private investors. SPG works with each tenant from entitlement through custom interiors.
